Today, Brain Gym® and Goh Siew Siew are synonymous in Malaysia. Her training and speaking engagements are very much sought after, and Goh’s gentle but down-to-earth approach is what keeps her real, making her sessions up close and personal.
For over two decades, Goh has worked tirelessly to adopt and adapt the Brain Gym® methodology; greatly succeeding in helping children, teachers and parents use the movement-based learning programme to turn challenges into successes.
Goh has travelled Malaysia to deliver workshops on the benefits of Brain Gym® in early childhood education, and served as a speaker for the Penang Educational Consultative Council Preschool Education Committee. She has presented at regional conferences and addressed international platforms under the auspices of several national universities. This is alongside her playing an active role in acquainting and training teachers in Brain Gym®. Goh also consults for and regularly speaks at programmes organised by the Educational Kinesiology Foundation, USA.
Her deep conviction and commitment to Brain Gym® has facilitated the expansion of the programme’s influence beyond the field of early childhood education to include scopes such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, special needs, geriatric care and Alzheimer’s.
Complementing her vast experience in Brain Gym®, are her other areas of expertise and research which include Early Childhood Development, Cognitive Development, Creative Movement and Art, Interaction & Relationship, Parenting Consultation, Classroom & Behavior Management, Remedial Education, Physical Exercise Education amongst others. She has also published papers on the effects of Brain Gym® activities towards the cognitive development of children at kindergartens.
Twenty years on, Goh continues to be moved by the predicaments faced by parents and teachers; inspiring her on a mission to help families and individuals achieve a life that is balanced and fulfilling.
